It is our great pleasure to invite you to the second international Klaara Conference, focusing on easy-to-read (EtR) resp. easy language research, to be held in Olten, Switzerland on August 30 and 31, 2021.
There is a growing awareness that access to information and barrier-free communication is a prerequisite to participate as self-determined and equal citizen at all areas of society. Article 2 of the UN convention on the rights of persons with disabilities includes the use of easily understandable language as a means of achieving this. Against the background that accessible language benefits numerous other target groups, there is a growing interest in and more research on the topic. Changes in society increase the demand for research-based standards, practices, and applications in various social contexts. On the theoretical side, EtR has to be seen in the broader context of participation, addressee orientation, communication, comprehensibility, literacy, intralingual transposition.
We welcome section papers, posters and workshops.
While Section papers and posters should be based on completed or research in progress, workshops may also be aiming to connect people on new topics or provisional ideas.
People from whom an abstract has already been accepted will be informed individually for further proceedings.
Abstract submission is closed.
